There's also an optional Pro upgrade that removes ads and adds extra features, but the core typing trainer is and will stay free.

Do I need to download anything?
No. BossTyper runs entirely in your web browser on any modern computer. There's nothing to install — just open the site and start typing.
Learning to type
How can I improve my typing speed?
Learn to type without looking at the keyboard, prioritize accuracy over raw speed, find a steady rhythm, and practice a little every day. Our complete guide to typing faster walks through the whole process step by step.
What is touch typing?
Touch typing means typing without looking at the keyboard, using all ten fingers in a fixed pattern anchored on the home row. It's the single biggest unlock for speed and comfort. New to it? Start with our touch typing for beginners guide.
What is a good typing speed?
The average adult who types regularly is around 40 WPM. Above 70 WPM at high accuracy is considered fast, and 90+ WPM is very fast. We break down the benchmarks in detail in what is a good typing speed.
Should I focus on speed or accuracy?
Accuracy first. Errors cost more time to fix than they save, and sloppy practice builds bad habits. Aim for 97% accuracy or higher and let speed follow naturally. There's a full guide on improving typing accuracy.
How long does it take to learn to type well?
With around 15 minutes of focused daily practice, most people can touch type simple text within a week or two and reach a comfortable 60–80 WPM over a few months. Consistency matters far more than the length of any single session.
Game modes & features
What game modes does BossTyper have?
BossTyper includes 30 progressive lessons, a daily challenge, multiplayer races (1v1 and 5-player arenas), bot races against AI at several difficulty levels, a Word Rain arcade mode, Zen mode for relaxed practice, and custom text practice where you paste your own content.
Can I practice with my own text?
Yes. Custom text mode lets you paste any passage and practice on it — useful for rehearsing material you actually type, like code, vocabulary, or a speech.
What is the daily challenge?
Every day, everyone gets the same fresh passage to type, and your result is ranked against other players on that day's leaderboard. It's a simple way to build a daily practice habit and measure yourself against the community.
